Huayhuash Mini Trek – 6 days

On our second day of hiking, we will start early in the morning. We will wake you up with a hot drink and provide you with warm water for your personal hygiene. Breakfast is at 5:30 am and at 6:30 am we begin our hike. This day we will ascend to the Carhuac pass from where we will have spectacular views of the Siula and Yerupaja snow-capped mountains to finally reach Carhuacocha.

• Elevation difference: from 4200 meters above sea level to 4650 meters above sea level (+550) – Sambunya Pass
• Camping: Laguna Carhuacocha (4,100 m)

On our third day of hiking, we will start the journey early in the morning. We will wake you up with a hot drink and provide you with warm water for your personal hygiene. Breakfast is at 5:30 am and at 6:30 am we begin our daily journey.

This day we will visit the Siula viewpoint “famous for the photography of the Huayhuash where you can see the 3 lagoons; Quesillococha, Siula and Gangrajanca”.

On our fourth day of hiking we will start the day early in the morning. We will wake you up with a hot drink and provide you with warm water for your personal hygiene. Breakfast is at 5:30 am and at 6:30 am we begin. This day the hike takes us to the southern end of the Huayhuash mountain range and then we ascend to the Trapecio Pass. Finally we arrive at the Cuyocpampa camp at 4,560m.

• Camping: Cuyocpampa (6,560 m)

On our last day of hiking we will start the day early in the morning. We will wake you up with a hot drink and provide you with warm water for your personal hygiene. Breakfast is at 5:30 am and at 6:30 am we begin this day. Our goal will be to cross the Santa Rosa pass, the highest point of the hike, from where you can get splendid views of the snow-capped mountains: Cuyoc, Puscanturpa, Trapecio, Siula, Yerupaja, Sarapo and Jurao. Then we head to the town of Huayllapa arriving at 6 pm. Tonight we will sleep in the town of Huayllapa and then on day 6 we will wake up early at 5 am and leave for the town of Cajatambo for a 2-hour walk where we will finish the trekking and expedition service.
