Overview

Huascaran (6,768m) is the highest point in Peru, the highest point in all the tropics on Earth and the fifth highest mountain in South America. The summit was first reached in July 1932 by a joint German-Austrian expedition. This mountain is the most popular climbing target in the Peruvian Andes, and is especially popular with those visiting the Cordillera Blanca. Upon reaching its lofty summit you will have reached the apex of the highest tropical mountain range in the world.

Included

  • Transport: From Huaraz to the starting point of your activity, and from the end point of your activity back to Huaraz. We use private transport, minivans and other types of cars, depending on the size of the group.
  • Guide: Qualified and experienced mountain guide who speaks Spanish and English.
  • Cook: A professional cook who is trained to prepare healthy dishes in a hygienic manner, depending on the size of the group.
  • Muleteers: In charge of taking the donkeys with our materials and backpacks, taking care of them and guiding them. (depending on the expedition we are replaced by porters / people who load things)
  • Donkeys: The number of donkeys provided depends on the size of the group. The donkeys carry tents, food, climbing rope to base camp and back, but you must bring your own personal equipment. (depending on the expedition we are replaced by porters / people who load things)
  • Meals: Breakfast, packed lunch and dinner.
  • Equipment: Good quality high mountain tent, sleeping mattress, ropes, carabiners, dining tent (depending on the size of the group), table and chairs, first aid kit, stove, crockery and kitchen utensils. We can also provide you with personal mountain equipment if you do not have one.
  • Entrance fee: for the national park.

Exclude

  • First breakfast, last dinner, soft or alcoholic beverages, medical treatment, travel insurance, tips, additional expenses as a result of leaving the expedition early, additional expenses as a result of rescue or emergency evacuation.

  • Well used in mountain boots or trekking shoes
  • Comfortable clothing: T-shirt (quick-drying or merino wool recommended), trekking pants or leggings, sweater, wool trekking socks, underwear, long thermal underwear, fleece, gloves, hat, buff.
  • Down jacket quality 650 to 900 thermal degrees
  • Waterproof jacket and pants (Gore-Tex recommended)
  • Gore-Tex gloves
  • Bottle of water 1 liter, We will provide you with boiled and purified water
  • Toilet paper, personal toiletries, small towel

Tour Plan

Lo recogerán en su hotel y comenzaremos a conducir por el Callejón de Huaylas hasta Mancos, desde aquí viajamos hacia el lado este hasta Musho. Aquí cargamos nuestros burros y caminamos hasta el campamento base de Huascarán (4700m). Tiempo de conducción: 2.5 hs. / Tiempo de caminata: 5 hs.
La subida desde el campamento base nos ve subir un escalón de roca de seis metros seguido de una travesía a través de una serie de salientes hasta llegar al campamento de morrena que se encuentra a unos 200 metros del borde del glaciar. La subida dura de una hora y media a dos horas. Desde el campamento de morrenas hay varios senderos a lo largo de las losas que nos llevan al borde del glaciar en aproximadamente media hora. El glaciar es fácil de navegar y las grietas son fáciles de detectar, pero nos ataremos en caso de que haya alguna oculta. El camping 1 se encuentra en una zona segura con espléndidas vistas a diferentes montañas alrededor. Tiempo de escalada: 6 hs.
Desde el Campo 1 ascendemos por aproximadamente 200 metros a un área conocida como la Candeletta y luego atravesamos a la izquierda hasta el collado que se llama la Garganta. Aquí es donde colocamos nuestro Campamento 2 (5950m) y este campamento puede ser frío y ventoso. Tiempo de escalada: 5 hs.
El día de la cumbre implica un comienzo alpino temprano a las 3:00 a.m., donde subimos pendientes de 45-50 grados durante unos 250 metros y luego el ángulo disminuye con una caminata hasta la cumbre. A lo largo de esta ruta disfrutaremos de espléndidas vistas de diferentes montañas que nos rodean y disfrutaremos del amanecer en la Cordillera Blanca. Llegamos a la Cumbre (6768m) alrededor de las 10:00 am. Después de quedarnos unos minutos para disfrutar de las vistas y tomar fotografías, comenzaremos nuestro descenso al Campo 2 durante aproximadamente 4 horas. Llegamos al campamento alrededor de las 3:00 pm. Tiempo de escalada: 7 hs.
Temprano en la mañana comenzamos a bajar al Campo Base, después de bajar 2 horas llegamos al Campamento Moraine, donde almorzamos. Después del almuerzo continuamos bajando al Campo Base (3800m). Tiempo de caminata: 4 hs.
A última hora de la mañana descendemos a Musho durante aproximadamente 3 horas, donde nuestro transporte nos espera. Llegamos a Huaraz alrededor de las 4 pm. Tiempo de caminata: 3 hs. / Tiempo de conducción: 2.5 hs.
