Overview

Snowy Pisco 5752 m / 18,871 ft. It is located in the Cordillera Blanca and is part of a mountain range called Macizo de Huandoy. It is located in the central part of the Cordillera Blanca, in the province of Yunghay. It became a popular mountain due to its spectacular views and easy access. The normal western route is ideal for acclimatization and many mountaineers use it as the end of their hike or as a start to acclimatize before climbing more technically challenging mountains. Nevado Yanapaccha 5460 m / 17,913 ft. It is located in the Central Andes of South America, in the Cordillera Blanca and the Huascarán National Park. This mountain can be climbed throughout the year, and it is a good place to take climbing and rescue courses due to the number of cracks and climbing walls. Its name comes from Yana, which means black, and Paccha, which means waterfall. Its full name would mean Waterfall on a black mountain.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

We recommend that you do at least a 1 – 3 day hike at altitude to acclimatize before going on this tour. Not suitable for people in a state of severe obesity and with cardiovascular diseases.

Included

  • Transport: From Huaraz to the starting point of your activity, and from the end point of your activity back to Huaraz. We use private transport, minivans and other types of cars, depending on the size of the group.
  • Guide: Qualified and experienced mountain guide who speaks Spanish and English.
  • Cook: A professional cook who is trained to prepare healthy dishes in a hygienic manner, depending on the size of the group.
  • Muleteers: In charge of taking the donkeys with our materials and backpacks, taking care of them and guiding them. (depending on the expedition we are replaced by porters / people who load things)
  • Donkeys: The number of donkeys provided depends on the size of the group. The donkeys carry tents, food, climbing rope to base camp and back, but you must bring your own personal equipment. (depending on the expedition we are replaced by porters / people who load things)
  • Meals: Breakfast, packed lunch and dinner.
  • Equipment: Good quality high mountain tent, sleeping mattress, ropes, carabiners, dining tent (depending on the size of the group), table and chairs, first aid kit, stove, crockery and kitchen utensils. We can also provide you with personal mountain equipment if you do not have one.
  • Entrance fee: for the national park.

Exclude

  • First breakfast, last dinner, soft or alcoholic beverages, medical treatment, travel insurance, tips, additional expenses as a result of leaving the expedition early, additional expenses as a result of rescue or emergency evacuation.

  • Down jacket quality 650 to 900 thermal degrees
  • Waterproof jacket and pants (Gore-Tex recommended)

Tour Plan

From Huaraz, we will take a transport to Cebollapampa (approx. 2 to 3 hours). On the way, you will be able to appreciate amazing views such as two beautiful lagoons: Chinancocha (lag. Hembra) and Orconcocha (lag. Macho). We will follow the Llanguna Valley to Cebollapampa. From there, we will start the trek to the base camp, where we will camp for the night. The walk will last approximately 2 to 3 hours of walking.
We will start walking at 1 am, crossing some moraines on the way to the glacier. Then, we will ascend a slope (35°-40° inclination) until we reach the top, where we will be rewarded with spectacular views, such as the gigantic Chacraraju, Artesonraju, Huandoys, Caraz, Huascaran and Alpamayo among others. Then we will descend to Base Camp. approximately 6 - 7 hours walking.
On the third day, we will descend back to Cebollapampa/Yuraccorral, where we will camp for the night. 1h30 to 2h downhill. Day 04: Yuraccoral - Moraine Camp Yanapaccha 5000 m / 16,404 ft We will continue until we reach Kilometer 42 by transport. Once there, we will start our walk, passing through the Morraine camp. approx. 3.5 hrs of transportation and approximately 4 hours walking.
We will begin the ascent at 3 am, crossing a moraine until we reach the wide glacier. Then we will climb the Wall of 180m (50-60°) until we reach the top. There we will enjoy spectacular views of the glaciers, such as Huascarán, Chopicalqui, Pisco, Huandoys and others. Later, we will begin to descend a hill, with a view of the Chacraraju, to the moraine and we will continue until km 42 where our transport will be waiting for us. The ascent is approx. 5 to 6 hours. The descent to the camp approximately 3 - 4 hours of walking. and then we will return to Huaraz.
