Overview

Nevado Yanapaccha this mountain can be climbed throughout the year, and it is a good place for climbing and rescue courses due to the number of cracks and climbing walls. Its name comes from Yana, which means black, and Paccha, which means waterfall. Its full name would mean Waterfall on a black mountain. Nevado Chopicalqui is the third peak of the Nevado del Huascaran massif, located in the Cordillera Blanca, between the two peaks of Huascaran and Contrahierbas, in the province of Yungay. The road that enters the valley borders the beautiful emerald-colored lagoons of Llanganuco: chinancocha (female lagoon) and Orconcocha male lagoon.
